Project: Oi Oi Savaloy

This is the successor to Corpulent Stump and as far as we are aware, will be the tallest and most powerful non comercial* rocket ever launched in the UK.

Oi Oi Savaloy is being built as a test of just how far so called hobby rocketry can push the envelope. Many technologies are now available to rocketeers and it is now capable to build to semi-professional standards.

The rocket is 29ft tall and weighs in at almost 200Kg fuly loaded with electronic gadgets such as live telemetry, GPS and onboard video cameras.

The rocket was originally planned for IRW 2008, however problems obtaining insurance led to the project being suspended. We are currently in midst of finishing the rocket and are investigating the possibility of a launch attempt in June 2009 in Scotland at the Farlie Moor site. We will keep you posted.

* By non commercial, we mean not being paid to build it. Just me in a workshop.
